A
baker brought over his original recipes from Belgium and opened our bakery in
1993, initially naming it Chocolate Mousse.
The Belgian baker was famous for his outstanding croissants and
European-style cakes. The business grew
to become one of the San Francisco Bay Areas most respected retail and wholesale
bakeries. He sold the business in 1999 to
a professional American baker who added pies, tarts, and savories to the menu
selection. She renamed the bakery to
Vivaldi’s to give it a broader association with European style baking across
more European countries and menu selections.
In 2002 a new owner took over and added "Bakery and Café" to the name to
give the business an exclusive focus on patisserie baked goods. We are so lucky to retain the fine bakers that originally opened this bakery in 1993. Chocolate Mousse Bakery and Café employs some the best European-style bakers in the San Francisco Bay Area. The bakers are accomplished in their trade with over 15 years of baking experience. Each has a specialty in Croissants, Tarts, Cakes, Baking, and Decorating. Chocolate Mousse's counter help are also knowledgeable about the ingredients, texture, and taste of each product. Our delivery crew is careful and reliable. We respect your property and take great care with your orders. Finally, Chocolate Mousse employs some of the most talented cake decorators in the area for Weddings and other special events.
